A Girl Walks Alone at Night
Lady Lazarus Presents: A Girl Walks Alone at Night
A feminist comic horror based on the Iranian-American vampire movie of the same name. My character comes on stage looking like they've been attacked, but, plot twist, I was never in danger and the blood isn't mine.
After the latest round of protests against police violence in the UK, I added a shout-out to Sisters Uncut: "no killers, no cops, sisters run the block." This act is just some horror film fun. It's not a nuanced community-based response to violence. But we do have the power to protect each other, whether that's defunding the police, believing survivors at home and in public, standing up for trans colleagues at work, pushing for sex worker rights, or white people intervening when the police harass Black people and people of colour on the street. We all have the power to look out for each other in small ways.
