We're Hiring!
Revised deadline: 8th October
I, Catriona, have been running this solo for a couple of years now, and have finally learnt that it’s okay to accept help. As we approach the half-way mark for our Autumn/Winter submissions period, we’re looking to hire a temporary freelance editorial and social media assistant. The assistant will ideally have some editorial experience (it doesn’t have to be anything major!), some experience helping run either their own or a communities Instagram account and ideally knowledge of or aptitude to learn about Squarespace.
You’ll be expected to:
Draft and post social media content
Copy-edit submissions from our community
Reply to emails from contributors
I, of course, will be doing all of these things too. This is my first time hiring someone, and I want to make sure the person is happy with their role and comfortable with their responsibilities. I’ll always be open to changing how we do things, and really want a collaborator for this period. This can sometimes be tough work reading through people’s pain and trauma, but it’s so worth it to see the amazing publications and healing gained.
It’s an 8 hour contract at £11 per/hour - you’ll be working for 2 hours each week for a total of 4 weeks. The contract would begin on the 28th October and you can fulfil the contract in a schedule best for you up until December 28th. Applications are open to all who identify as survivors - application from disabled, queer and/or survivors of colour with relevant experience are especially encouraged.
Please apply by emailing lifecontinuesafter@gmail.com with the subject line “Editorial/Marketing Assistant 2021” by the 8th October with a short letter about your relevant work experience and why you’d like to join the project. I’ll try my hardest to get back to everyone who applies.
Special thanks to the lovely Patreon community who’ve made this expansion possible - if you’d like to join the Patreon to support LCA and it’s future, please follow this link. Supporting us there means that LCA can continue for years to come and we can continue sharing creations from survivors.
